Olena Sotnyk

Olena Sotnyk is a Ukrainian lawyer and politician, member of the Parliament of Ukraine, secretary of the Parliamentary Committee on the Issues of European Integration, head of the Subcommittee on Approximation of Ukrainian Legislation to EU Law, member of the Permanent Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and vicechairperson of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe.
Ms Sotnyk's main fields of expertise in the Parliament of Ukraine are judicial reform, police and security service reform, anti-corruption reform, adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to EU law to ensure its compliance with the obligations of Ukraine to the Council of Europe. She is an advocate of the "Heavenly Hundred", a member of the Centre for the free legal aid to the victims of the events on the Independence Square in Kiev, and a coordinator of a range of projects to defend children's rights.
Olena Sotnyk obtained a Dipl. (Hon.) in Law from the National Academy of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Dipl. (Hon.) in specializations "Manager-economist" and "Local Government" and a degree in Psychology from the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University.
