Neal Walker

Mr. Neal Walker, UN Resident Coordinator, Humanitarian Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Ukraine arrived in Kyiv on October 4, 2014.

Mr. Walker has more than 30 years of senior-level experience working with the United Nations and the Organization of American States. Prior to leading the United Nations in Ukraine he served as the UN Resident Coordinator and Resident Representative in Bangladesh (2011 - 2014) and Kyrgyz Republic (2006 - 2011). He has also served as UNDP Chief of Country Offices Oversight & Support for Latin America (2002 - 2006); UNDP Senior Deputy Resident Representative in Guatemala (1999-2002); Deputy Chief covering North East Asia at the UNDP Regional Bureau for Asia and Pacific (1996-1999); UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Equatorial Guinea (1993-1996); and Assistant UNDP Resident Representative in Sudan (1990-1993).

Between 1982 and 1988 Mr. Walker served the OAS in Central and South America as a technical expert in natural resources and renewable energies.

Mr. Walker has a degree in political science and a master's degree in public and international affairs from the University of Pittsburgh.

Born in 1956, Mr. Walker is married and has two children.
