Sujala Pant

Current title: Governance and Climate Finance Advisor, UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub.

With almost 15 years of experience in international development, Sujala Pant is currently working on a regional project, "Governance of Climate Change Finance to Benefit the Poor and Vulnerable in Asia-Pacific". As a Governance expert, Sujala leads the team's effort to strengthen the governance dimensions of the programme, with a particular focus on increasing accountability over the use of climate change finance in various countries in Asia. Sujala also supports countries in strengthening their institutional arrangements to manage climate change finance more effectively.

Previously, she worked as Special Assistant where she advised and assisted the Director of UNDP Governance team in the strategic development and the global positioning of governance as a fundamental pillar for inclusive and equitable development. Prior to joining UNDP, Sujala worked with SNV in Bhutan, and Nepal, focusing mostly on strengthening the capacity of national and sub-national governance actors, as well as in facilitating organisation and institutional reforms.

A native of Nepal, Sujala holds an MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics, and is currently based in Bangkok.
